    • Stop At Ky Anh guerrilla war tunnels

We arrive at our first stop today, the historic tunnels from the war. Ky Anh guerrilla war tunnels played an important role in the war between 1965-72. The 32km tunnel served as a shelter, logistics and military command base for nearly 1,000 soldiers and guerrillas between 1965 and 1975. In 1997, the province restored two main sections of the tunnel in Thach Tan Village that were recognised as a national historic relic. After the tunnels we can spend some time exploring the village of Thach Anh where the tunnels are located. This is a small friendly farming village where many locals are experts in the art of making sleeping mats. This is a good place for a coffee.

    • Visit Site Of The “The Heroic Mother” Monument

Our next stop is the spectacular monument “The Heroic Mother” The memorial complex covers an area of 15 hectares, the centrepiece is an 18-metre high monument that depicts the faces of several heroic mothers, with Nguyen Thi Thu at the centre. Thu lost nine children, one son-in-law and one granddaughter during the war. Inside the monument building are the names of nearly 50,000 heroic mothers with stories about their lives and the contributions they made to the nation during the war. This monument is dedicated to all the mothers who lost loved ones. There is also an interesting photo museum depicting the war from a local perspective.

    • Arrive At Tam Thanh Village

After a short drive we arrive at Tam Thanh village, “The Mural Village”. For lunch we can enjoy freshly locally caught seafood on the beach (as well as other choices for those who do not like seafood). After lunch you can walk through the mural village. Imagine a quiet coastal fishing village, completely transformed by artists, who have worked their magic on the sides of 100 homes. Once similar to many other coastal villages in the area, it is has now made its mark on the tourist map. a highlight is the incredibly realistic portraits of local residents who are still currently living in their decorated homes.
